When it comes to cooking scallops with a crispy top, the key is to get the perfect sear without overcooking the delicate meat. The best way to achieve this is by using a hot pan and English utensils to cook the scallops quickly and efficiently.

Before cooking, make sure to pat the scallops dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a small amount of oil. Once the pan is hot, carefully place the scallops in the pan, making sure not to overcrowd them. Cook the scallops for 60 seconds on each side, allowing them to develop a golden-brown crust while keeping the inside tender and juicy.

To elevate the flavors and add an extra layer of deliciousness to the scallops, a garlic and parsley butter can be added during the cooking process. Once the scallops are seared, remove them from the pan and add a knob of butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Allow the butter to melt and infuse with the flavors before spooning it over the scallops.
