Pole-and-line caught albacore tuna canned in the Basque Country using family recipes passed down through the generations. Olasagasti works with its tuna fresh, thus making it more flavoursome. The tuna is fished in the Bay of Biscay in the summer months when it is leaner and less fatty and in peak condition. Drained, this comes in at 520g of tuna. Ideal for family meals, if you’re making a meal for a crowd or batch cooking.

This is white tuna as it should be. Zallo White Tuna in Olive Oil takes the celebrated Bonito del Norte — the finest albacore tuna from the Cantabrian Sea — and keeps things beautifully simple: the fish, the oil, the tin.

Caught pole-and-line during summer when the tuna runs close to the Cantabrian coast at its flavoursome peak, and tinned at Zallo's eco-friendly Basque Country cannery on the day of the catch. Absolutely no by-catch. No seabed damage. Just sustainably sourced, exquisitely flavoured tuna.

How to serve:

  • In a Basque-style salad with boiled egg, anchovies and roasted peppers
  • Stirred through pasta with olives, capers and a little of the oil
  • On toast with sliced tomato and flaked sea salt — the simplest of pleasures
